Soft tissue therapy is an advanced form of sports massage that addresses chronic pain, minor pain, and injuries. Our process begins with a comprehensive medical history review and a thorough discussion of the problem at hand. We then conduct a postural assessment and range of motion tests to determine the root cause of the issue.

During the treatment, we utilize a range of techniques to release tension and restore balance to your soft tissues. We will also provide recommendations on exercises and self-care to help you maintain the benefits of the treatment.

Our range of techniques includes the following:

  • Effleurage – often used at the beginning of a massage session to warm up the muscles and prepare them for deeper work. It can also be used to help promote relaxation and to increase circulation in the body.
  • Petrissage -. A technique that can help to improve blood flow, break up adhesions, and release knots in the muscles.
  • Friction – often used in deep tissue massage to help release adhesions and knots in the muscles and to help break up scar tissue. The method creates heat and increases blood flow to the area, which can help to reduce pain and stiffness.
  • Muscle energy technique (MET) – involves the use of the patient’s own muscular effort to help correct musculoskeletal imbalances and improve joint mobility.
  • Soft tissue release (STR) – A technique used to address musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction.
